When webinar platforms and virtual events first emerged on the scene, I remember the cries of hysteria from our industry–fears that live, in person events were doomed to go the way of the rotary phone, replaced by newer technology. Connectivity for Meetings and Events

In today’s connected world, it’s hard to imagine a time when access to the internet wasn’t within the palm of everyone’s hands. Whether using a meeting app, taking notes, texting, emailing or posting to social media, connectivity is a vital part of everyday life – and every meeting. Because of this, online access is now an expectation rather than a perk. While this makes organizing and executing events a more efficient process, protecting valuable information stored on personal devices now must be a high priority for planners.

Poachers use pilfered attendee lists to pick off unsuspecting registrants from official blocks. Pirates will do the same. At best, they’ll book victims into subpar venues – and at worst providing no accommodations, and absconding with deposits.
